He arrived at the Sanctuary in 2014 along with the chimpanzees Maria das Dores and Jamaica. He lived on a precarious and very small island with the two females and did not let the two feed, since the food was not enough for the three. He was feared and very lonely where he lived and shortly after arriving at the Sanctuary he changed his behavior and became even more dominant, however more cheerful and playful. Martin likes to interact and calls to play by running from one room to another. He really likes the fruit jelly that he receives as an enrichment and is calmer to eat, different from what he was in the past.
