She arrived at the Sanctuary in 2014, along with her companions, Jamaica and Martin. She was very thin and sad. Fortunately Maria quickly adapted to the Sanctuary and soon recovered, getting along well with everyone.

Maria is very calm, docile, introspective, and very stubborn. She lives better with females than males and today shares the enclosure with her friend Margarete, with total peace and tranquility that one provides to the other. The two quickly became inseparable companions, doing everything together and respecting and protecting each other mutually.
