She arrived at the Sanctuary in 2002, coming from a former commercial chimpanzee breeding facility that existed in Paraná, south of Brazil. Before that, it is known that Carolina had worked in a circus.

She lived for many years with Alex, of whom she was very jealous. She was sociable and docile, but very deceitful, and could be aggressive.

She passed away in 2013.
