Carlos Chimpanzee

Carlos was one of the chimpanzees rescued as a baby from an old commercial chimpanzee breeding center in southern Brazil, and he went straight to the sanctuary in 2000 when he was just a few months old.

He is Claudio’s older brother and they have lived together since they were little. He is also the brother of Vitor and Monica, but he doesn’t know them because they were sold to a circus when they were born and only arrived at the sanctuary after many years of work and suffering in the circus. 

Carlos likes to play with cars and keeps his favorite toys in his bed. He is very brave and sociable, especially with females. He is also very playful and likes to make faces when he looks in the mirror.
