The “lobby” of the torturers of chimpanzees
posted in 28 May 2014

We knew they would not be silent and would invent some justification to return to defend the use of chimpanzees in biomedical research, which earned so much money, and still render, for the various laboratories and research centers in North America, which are amply compensated by the use of great apes in invasive tests.

Peter D. Walsh, from University of Cambridge , UK, who presents himself as an expert on chimpanzees and gorillas , is the spearhead of the “lobby” of the torturers. In a paper published in the North American journal PNAS, he accuses Jane Goodall of being responsible for the death, to the brink of extinction, of gorillas and chimpanzees, because she attacks the use of them in medical experiments, while they could develop a vaccine, for instance, against Ebola virus, which, according to him but with no proof, hast has killed large populations of great apes in the African Continent.

The job of the lobbyist disguised as a scientist says that the action of Jane Goodall prevented the development of a vaccine in chimpanzees against diseases that affect them. A project that now they are presenting to justify the torture is to keep the remaining chimpanzees are in public and private hands in North America for research.

What the lobbyist does not explain is that in 50 years of torture they NEVER thought of developing a vaccine or a medicine to cure the apes. They have always been researching for diseases that affect humans. After 50 years submitting great apes to suffering and killing hundreds of them in biomedical laboratories is that they came to the conclusion that they could have used them to control the diseases that affect them, and not exclusively human disease. An unbelievable hypocrisy!

Even more, in the 1980s the United States began to reproduce frantically chimpanzees, financed by NIH to develop a vaccine against AIDS Human. After sacrificing hundreds of them for that absurd goal, they realized that Simian AIDS was different. And finding that out, they did not develop a project of a vaccine against this disease, what it would be relatively easy, as they had hundreds of chimpanzees in experimentation in various torture centers, such as the 75 in Bastrop , Texas , in the Faculty of Veterinary, exclusively dedicated to human diseases .

Peter D. Walsh and his collaborators do not fool anyone, nor will achieve the reverse in the decision that the U.S. Government has taken to retire hundreds of chimpanzees it owns. However, there are several hundred of them in private hands, which does not have this protection , and many of them are still funded by NIH and can be re- activated in the torture if these lobbyists are not unmasked to the world.

They never developed a vaccine or a treatment that would benefit the great apes. The interest was always generate medicines, vaccines and treatments that were sold to humans, since they were the only ones who could afford it, and pay a lot , for their potential discoveries.
