Spanish legislators probably are not concerned with the bulls that die on the arenas of the country, but they have approved a pioneer law that defines that the simians hominides have their rights.
The Environmental Comission of the Parliament approved a resolution last week that recommends to the Government to support to the Great Ape Project (GAP), a 15-year-old international organization.
The group defends that the great primates, like gorillas and chimpanzees, deserve the right to life, that their freedom should not be taken away in an arbitrary way and that they have protection against torture, due to the genetic and behavioural similarity with the human beings.
