Survey shows that Jimmy must go to Sanctuary
posted in 28 May 2010

A survey applied by newspaper Extra (local newspaper of Rio de Janeiro) due to the repercussion of zoo chimpanzee Jimmy’s case shows that the best place for the animal is Great Primates Sanctuary of Sorocaba, affiliated to GAP Project. Almost 72% of the people interviewed affirmed that Jimmy must go to the sanctuary and should not be kept in the zoo.

This survey demonstrates that the majority of the population already understands that Jimmy ends up suffering mistreating in his current situation and that he deserves to have a better quality of life in a sanctuary, together with his equals and not being exposed to visitation.
