Protest against NASA in United States
posted in 06 Jul 2010

R&R Project and NGO NEAVS made a protest in front of Mclean Hospital, in Washington, where a group of saimiri monkeys will be submitted to radiation in a NASA’s project with a cost of USD 1,75 million, in order to evaluate to consequences of radiation on them.

After the radiation, the monkeys will be kept for four years in steel cages, isolated and submitted to tests in special chairs, where they will be immobilized. This is an absurd torture done with the money of North-American citizens, with no need at all.

Last June 10 a group of activists protested in front of the hospital, with posters against the torture that will be submitted to these monkeys, which come from our South-American forests.

A petition toward Charles F. Bolden Jr., NASA’s administrator, is being sent, aiming to suspend the project.
