With 149 positive votes at the Deputies Chamber on North-American Congress, Great Primates Protection Act Proposal is also on the Senate. And has the support of three important multiparty senators: Maria Cantwell (D-WA), Susan Collins (R-ME) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT), under identification S3694. At the Chamber the identification is HR1326.
Scientific director of R&R Project and NGO NEAVS, Dr. Jarrod Bailey, met recently with several North-American politicians in order to explain them that the ban of the use of chimpanzees in medical research does not have any negative impact n human health. He showed them several scientific works that prove it and a list of more then 700 scientists who support this idea.
The proposals on the Senate and n the Deputies Chamber will allow that all chimpanzees who are still owned by the Government get retired and they won’t be used anymore in medical research.
