Philosopher Peter Singer, one of the founders of GAP Project and considered the father of the movement for the defense of animal rights, has signed the letter of adhesion to the campaign Great Apes – Living World Heritage, advocated by GAP with Unesco. He recorded a video explaining the reason for the support and the importance of the campaign.
“These remarkable species of living beings, our closest relatives in all the animal world and all nature, are in danger. Their habitat is being destroyed and threatened. And I think it’s vitally important that we make sure that they are not destroyed, that they survive and indeed that they thrive. They are clearly part of a natural heritage as much as any national park or any mountain peak, stream or jungle or forest. Great Apes are part of this planet heritage. ”
