From PASA – Pan African Sanctuaries Alliance

In the beginning of 2018, baby female chimpanzees Bo and Bella were orphaned by hunters in Guinea Bissau, who planned to sell them on the black market. Luckily they are now thriving in their new home at Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a PASA member in Kenya.

Last November, these sweet girls were introduced to lush forest enclosures and they have been living it up! They are climbing trees and enjoying a diet full of fruits, vegetables, and plant-based protein. Their favorite food is ugali, a dish like polenta, mixed with egg. They’re recovering from their terrible traumas and engaging in natural chimpanzee behavior.

For the first time in their lives, Bo and Bella are free, safe, and ready to join a new chimpanzee family. They’re happy, healthy, and they will never be alone again.
