Mexico takes animals out of circuses
posted in 18 Dec 2014

Mexico has been, until now, a major center of circuses operation with animals. Some chimpanzees that were created in Brazil were sold to Mexican circuses 15 years ago. Today the Mexican Congress passed a law banning the National Wildlife species in circuses, which awaits the Presidential sanction in the coming days.

The law was passed by a wide margin of Congress, indicating a growing awareness of animal and environmental protection in the country.

It’s a shame that big countries like Brazil, United States and England have not yet a National Law prohibiting the exploitation of animals in circuses.
