Le Cirque loses all the animals and is condemned for mistreating

Brasília, Brazil: In a long 16 page sentence elaborated by Judge Esdras Neves, of Justice Tribunal of Federal District, the circus Le Cirque lost the property of all the animals that had already been confiscated by Ibama on July-August 2008. Besides, the circus’ owners were condemned for mistreating and will have fees penalties.

 

The sentence is dated of December 18 and is a result of a law suit ordered by Federal District Public Ministry.

Na African elephant, four Indian elephants, a hippopotamus, a White rhino, a zebra, two camels, two chimpanzees, ten ponies and two llamas were confiscated while were being exhibiting in Brasília. The circus ran away with all the animals, except for the chimpanzees, who were immediately transferred to GAP Sanctuary in Sorocaba, and after a few weeks the police was able to find the animals in other state and captured and transferred them to Brasília zoo.
