Kenya: Lions will disappear in 20 years
posted in 15 Dec 2009

Fifty years ago more than 500 thousand lions lived in the wild at African countries. Today they do not reach 16 thousand. The estimative is that they won’t exist in 20 years.

Among predatory hunting and habitat destruction, another enemy is threatening the survival of the lions: a group of toxic substances. The products known as carbofurans, forbidden in Unites States, are produced by an American company and continue to be widely used in Kenya and in West Africa countries. The majestic Kenya lion is near extinction and his main enemy today is these toxic substances.

Get involved in the campaign to convince politics leaders in Kenya and in other countries to prohibit the use of these substances in their territory.
