Kenda Diallo: more than a friend of chimpanzees
posted in 15 Sep 2010

For 17 years living part of his life with chimpanzees at Guinea, Africa, Kenda Diallo spends three weeks with them and a week with his family. He was awarded this year as Conservation Hero, an award that Disney Foundation gives each year to a person who highlighted in the area in Africa.

Diallo had to defend CCC Sanctuary, located inside Haut Niger National Park, from a fire in 2009, which almost destroyed its facilities. However, he did not distress and fought until he was able to save the chimpanzees who live at the sanctuary.

He encourages a release Project and also trains other keepers in the care and understanding of the behavior of the chimpanzees in his country. According to PASA’s director, Doug Cress, “they are very proud of Kenda and of his role in the success of maintaining CCC sanctuary working, despite the difficulties”.
