An alert from Ivory Coast points the desperate situation of the zoo of capital of the country, Abdijan: 39 animals died for the lack of food and care last month.
The situation was already critical and after the dispute generated by presidential elections, the state of the zoo was turned into a chaos. As long as the people who work at the zoo had no conditions to leave their homes, due to the civil war caused by rival groups, the animals were abandoned for weeks.
We have received a large report, in French, with details of the current status of the zoo. We forwarded this report to GAP Project France, so it can be delivered to French authorities, the same that collaborate to put an end in the incipient civil war in the country and helped to guarantee that the elected president took office.
If anyone can help us in the translation of French to Portuguese, Spanish or English, we would be able to translate it to other languages.
