Days ago an integration of chimpanzees at Anami Institute Sanctuary, affiliated to GAP Project, in, Paraná was performed. For some years, Lucy , a former chimpanzee of Garcia circus, lived with her baby Noel , and they were neighbors of the first group of babies of the sanctuary, which today are already teenagers .
Noel, especially, had long wanted to join the group of young chimpanzees. Besides enjoying a large territory, they practice the same jokes.
The first contact was with Victoria (daughter of Peter’s group, which is at GAP Sanctuary in Sorocaba), who came from a private zoo in Fortaleza. Victoria likes to demonstrate leadership and hit both in their first contact to show who she was, but later sought friendship.
Lucas (former chimpanzee from Garcia circus) was the second one, who is at the sanctuary since he was a baby and did not give any importance to the guests in his enclosure. Matheus (who also came from Garcia circus), who is also at the sanctuary since he was a baby, had the same behavior.
The fear was about Dinho’s behavior, who despite being the smallest one, tried to be the dominant in the group and could harm Noel. Dinho is also at the sanctuary since he was a baby and also came from Garcia circus.
But Dinho surprised everyone and embraced his new friend and his mother, by welcoming them into his territory.
At this moment, the apprehension of Anita and Millan (the owners of the sanctuary), and Dr. Sandra Milena (vet), as well as the entire staff of the Sanctuary, quickly dissipated and the tears of joy celebrated the happy end of this integration, which was of great benefit to the whole group .
