Orangutan Bonnie surprised the primatology world when she learned an ability that is unprecedented to apes, but common to humans: to whistle. It is the first time that scientists register a case of an orangutan able to imitate sounds of other species. Bonnie learned to whistle spontaneously, copying her keepers of the zoo, in Washington. Primatologists said that this behavior opens a new chapter in the study of the evolution of the species.
