Gorilla Idi Amin died in anesthesia
posted in 11 Jul 2012

The fact that we had already reported and the hypothesis that environmentalist Heleno Maia had raised has been proved now with the report of the autopsy: the only existing gorilla in a zoo in South America, who was unwisely placed with two young females, having been ill, died in anesthesia, possibly unnecessarily.

The autopsy reported describes in detail what happened,  which demonstrates the lack of care of the technical staff of the zoo, which had already spent more than half a million dollars to bring two young gorillas from John Aspinall Foundation, from England. This led to the terrible and untimely death of a being who could have lived many more years.

Environmentalist Heleno Maia announced it would appeal the prosecutors to be determined whether there was negligence in the administration of anesthesia. At the same time he is requesting the intervention of Councillor Maria Lucia Scarpelli (PCdoB), so that it formed a Special Committee to investigate the death of the gorilla Idi Amin and those responsible for it are punished.
