Giving day for Apes 2018 – September 25th
posted in 19 Sep 2018

Giving Day for Apes 2018 is a global day to raise awareness and individual support for more than 35 qualified sanctuaries and rescue centers providing rehabilitation and/or long-term care to great apes and gibbons throughout Africa, Asia, and North America.

With more than $1,100,000 raised and awarded to sanctuaries and rescue centers during the first four years of this initiative, the 2018 Giving Day will be the largest yet, with a goal to raise and award over $350,000, plus $40,000 in prize incentives. Your support, through direct donations and fundraising for participating sanctuaries and rescue centers, will determine how incentive funds are awarded.

Fundraising begins on August 27, leading up to a 24-hour Giving Day on September 25th, during which competitive “leaderboards”—or scorecards—will be activated, showing all donations received to date. The live 24-hour competitive giving day will begin at 12 midnight and end promptly at 11:59 PM, Eastern Standard Time.

The goal of Giving Day for Apes 2018 is to raise awareness and more than $350,000 in individual giving in support of qualified sanctuaries and rescue centers providing long-term care and/or rehabilitation of great apes and gibbons throughout Africa, Asia, and North America.
