German zoo will be investigated

A denounce of GAP / PGS of Spain to the European Community about mistreatment practices of Zoo / Circus Park Schwaben, in Germany, was accepted by the Committee on Petitions of the European Union and an investigation into the practices and the situation of the 40 chimpanzees that are kept there in poor conditions will start.

At the time of the complaint, GAP Project International offered to get some chimpanzees who were worse to receive in its facilities in Brazil, but the German rules demands were absurd, including the prohibition of showing for international press to the actual situation of those primates.

Secret  films were made by a German NGO showing the absurdity of the practices in that zoo, which also works as a circus. Watch here.
