Mexico 2015

In a joint work with the representation of GAP Project in Mexico, the director of GAP Spain, Pedro Pozas Terrados, will visit for a week, starting on April 21, the country.

In an extensive schedule that includes meetings, conferences and visits, Pedro Pozas will be lecturing on the need to create a legal personality for the Great Apes.

Recently, a debate has been produced in Mexico on great apes and the degree of protection that is needed to prevent the abuse and mistreatment to continue.

Mexico has just approved a national law prohibiting animals in circuses and, from July 1st, hundreds of animals that are in circuses today will be in a delicate situation, without destination. The debate on how to face this situation is spreading in society.

Even organizations that are integrated by Hollywood artists have been participating in the debate, offering to translate the hundreds of animals to North-American sanctuaries, in an unprecedented operation in the world.

Pedro Pozas Terrados will repeat in Mexico his recent presence in Argentina, where he also participated in debates and dialogues on the future of the Great Apes protection.

In this space, we will promote all activities developed in Mexico during the visit of the international GAP Project leader.

Dr. Pedro A. Ynterian

President, GAP Project International
