Great Ape Project Germany, which maintains contact with GAP International and GAP Spain, joined the International Campaign for UNESCO to declare the great apes as Living World Heritage.

GAP Germany is conducting a series of contacts with the German Green Party and the animalistic and ecological associations of the country, to support this initiative and remain united through bonds and letters of support. The goal is to get one million signatures and deliver them to UNESCO.

The three open and active platforms for the campaign already reaped a total of 195,117 signatures (18,000 SOSVOX, 142,187 SAVES THE JUNGLE and CHANGE.ORG 34,930), not to mention the adhesions of scholars and citizens of different branches of science and people in general supporters of the cause, and over 123 letters addressed by Associations, Political Groups, Professors, etc.

We intend to deliver to UNESCO one million signatures. Great apes deserve us to fight for their basic rights and the conservation of their habitat.
