The director of the GAP Project in Spain (known as Project Gran Simio), Pedro Pozas Terrados, author of the recently released book “Defenders of Equality – Freedom without chains, beyond genetics”, which recounts the struggle over the past 20 years for the great apes, will start a visit to Brazil and Argentina next September 5.

In Brazil, he will be two days to exchange opinions on the launch of the Global Campaign for Recognition of the Great Apes as Non Human Persons, which already have gathered hundreds of signatures, and visit GAP Sanctuary in Sorocaba.

His presence in Argentina will focus, at the invitation of GAP Project Argentina, which is headed by Prof. María Alejandra Juarez, in lectures at various universities and other institutions, in order to publicize the Manifesto recognizes that the Great Apes as No Human Persons.

Argentina, in recent months, has excelled in the fight for the rights of great apes, as many Habeas Corpus were filed to release some chimps who are isolated and in poor conditions in zoos, like the case of Toti, in Río Negro, and recently Monti, in Santiago del Estero.

Project Gran Simio of Spain has a long history of fighting for the rights of the Great Apes, both in the country and in Europe, Africa and Indonesia.
