Toti has turned into a chimpanzee known throughout Argentina. Due to the mobilization of Alejandra Juarez, representative of GAP Project, and her extensive group of collaborators, on the 11th of April, as the photos and videos show, the case of Toti covered the entire country.

In Rio Negro Zoo itself, where Toti is incarcerated against his will, the activists who argue that the fate of Toti must be a Sanctuary in Brazil,  gave the owner of the zoo 40,000 signatures with the request.

It is the first time in the history of the struggle for the rights of chimpanzees in the world one sees a mobilization of this kind, to guarantee the rights of them to live in a community of equals and not in a zoo, isolated and subjected to public harassment.

The struggle for Toti in Argentina continues in the courts, with a Habeas Corpus to be judged, and with the popular mobilization that must be heard by those who have the destiny and life of this innocent chimp on their hands.
