Chinchillas are released in Brazil
posted in 30 Oct 2014

Days ago, a group of young activists who fight for animal rights raided a breeding centre of chinchillas, near São Paulo, and freed a group of them, from the thousands of those who are there to be slaughtered and have their skin cut off for coats to be used by humans.

Chinchilla is a small and delicate animal, most do not know it; But 15 years ago, we had a bunch of them and we realized how absurd this industry is, which  assassinates thousands of beings who have as many rights as we do – to live in peace and respected on the planet.

In addition to show society the barbarity committed with these animals, which never hurt humanity, the actions of the young activists was meant to draw attention to the law proposal n ° 616/11, authored by deputy Feliciano Filho, which is awaiting signature by the Governor of the State of São Paulo to be official.

Governor Geraldo Alckmin, sensitized before the massacre that means continuing, in the XXI Century, to sacrifice wildlife for coats, sanctioned the proposal, which converts it into law, leading the  State of São Paulo to be an example for Brazil and for the world of Animal Protection.

Those who live at the expense of the suffering of chinchillas and other animals, as always, put the “human unemployment” as the adverse consequence of the measure. Killing innocent wild animals does not justify creating a single man job!

The Breeding Centres of Chinchilla have thousands of beings still in their possession. Authorities must protect those lives being massacred and transfer them to other places where the law does not apply.

Those who torture and kill innocent wild animals cannot go unpunished.
