Chimpanzees lose a defender

GENETICS IDENTITY

Morris Goodman was a molecular anthropologist who was a pioneer in pointing the similarity of genetic identity between chimpanzees and humans, when a research published in 2003 demonstrated that chimpanzees are 99,4% humans.

He also did the proposal to the scientific world to come back with the classification Homo troglodytes to chimpanzees, as Linneau had done in the beginning of the work of scientific classification of species.

Goodman never stop to work and died at his home in Detroit, Michigan with 86 years old on November 14th. A few years ago Goodman made a contact with GAP Spain and encouraged them to continue the fight to obtain the basic rights to great primates in our society.

Chimpanzees, gorillas and orangutans lose a sincere and tireless defender, who also spoke out clearly that these primitive beings are our forgotten brothers.
