HELSINKI MEETING

In the meeting occurred a few days ago at Helsinki, with the most important expert in cetaceans, lawyers and philosophers – including Paola Cavalieri, from GAP Project Spain – the participants came to the conclusion that it must be produced a declaration to support the rights of the cetaceans: orca whales and dolphins.

Among the specialists that participated of the meeting are Matti Hayry, Sudhir Chopra, Thomas White, Hall Whitehead and Lori Marino. There was a consensus that the cetaceans need basic rights as non-human people and can not be imprisoned in aquatic parks or economically exploited.

Project Free Cetacean, launched by GAP Spain, now is being extended to the world, to demand that it is put an end in the torture and slavery of these unique intelligent beings.
