ANOTHER CHIMPANZEE IS MURDERED
posted in 03 Apr 2009

A 9-year old chimpanzee, called Timmy, who had ran away of an illegal breeder in Winston, Missouri, has been shot to death by a police chief of this North American town. Apparently he tried to get into the police car.

According to police investigation, this location, which is 90 km to the north of Kansas City, had an illegal breeder where there were 200 dogs and three other monkeys, who lived together with the chimpanzee. When Missouri Humane Society arrived at the place, only 15 dogs and two cats were found. The incident with the chimpanzee occurred in the end of the afternoon last March 30th.

The police opened an investigation and denounced three Winston’s dwellers: Brent Hudson, 49 years old, Cherace Hudson, 41, and Mary Overton, 52. They were accused of several irregularities, such as to keep an illegal breeder, to abuse of the animals, negligence and to keep exotic wild animals with no registration on their property.

This latest incident, a few weeks after the attack of chimpanzee Travis to a lady when he ran away of the house he had been kept as a pet, must speed up the bill proposal that is submitted to the analysis of the USA Deputy Chamber. The bill prohibits the ownership of great primates in family houses as they were pets.
