In a long communication published at the website of GAP Spain, prepared by director Pedro Pozas Terrados, the project alerts to the fact that 27 Environment European Ministers had committed to slow down species extinction by 2010 and at the last meeting, the proposal was postponed to 2020, when the destruction will be out of control.
In this work, where they report cases of misunderstandings, frauds and continuing exploitation of people all over the world, they highlight an inform of FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) in which it is affirmed that deforestation is decreasing. But they calculate considering palm, eucalyptus and other species plantations as substitutes of forests, when it is known that these could never replace a primary forest.
Director of GAP Spain asks: “Whom they want to deceive? Everyone knows that monocultures are real green deserts, with no life due to chemical substances used in crops. This destroys all the biodiversity of unique ecosystems, including human and no-human lives.”
And continues: “Due to trick argumentation, all the forests in the world can be destroyed and replaced by monocultures of trees (eucalyptus, oil palms, latex etc) and the area of real forests would never change.”
As you will be able to see at the documentary produced by GAP Spain at Indonesian jungles, the forest is destroyed to promote monoculture of palms that produce oil, used as fuel, food and cosmetics and orangutans lose their habitat and disappear from the last protected reserve.
In a part of his final considerations, Pedro Pozas Terrados, frustrated due to the alliance of corrupt politicians, irresponsible governments and big international interests, declares: “The great primates, among other species, are disappearing. Our evolutionary brothers, who have been together with us in a parallel way, coming from the same ancestor, are being vanished, disappear, are extinguished by murderer Homo Sapiens, who, once more, eliminate the last non-human hominids that remain as family.”
