Na China existem fazendas onde ursos são engaiolados e um tubo é implantado cirurgicamente em sua vesícula biliar para extração permanente de bílis, que depois é processada e convertida em remédio.

Estes ursos sofrem dores terríveis com esta prática e morrem em menos de 5 anos – quando poderiam viver acima de 25 – de infecções e câncer.

A empresa chinesa Gui Zhen Tang Pharmaceutical Corporation é a mais importante neste processo de tortura, com centenas de ursos em seu poder submetidos a esta violência. Agora, para levantar mais recursos e aumentar o número de ursos torturados, esta companhia quer lançar ações na Bolsa de Valores chinesa.

A Ong Care 2 está lançando uma campanha mundial para assinar petições, a fim de que a Bolsa de Valores Shenzhen (Shenzhen Stock Exchange) não aceite essa firma torturadora em seu quadro de associados. Já existem 41.439 petições assinadas. Vamos chegar a 1 milhão e salvar a vida de centenas de ursos das mãos de seus torturadores.

Bears farmed for their bile, a common ingredient in traditional Chinese medicine, live on factory farms in small cages they can barely move in. Farmers extract their bile through tubes surgically implanted into their gall bladders. And the result of this cruelty is that the bears, in addition to suffering infections and liver cancer, only live about 5 years. A bear in the wild lives 25.

Now, the Gui Zhen Tang Pharmaceutical Corporation, which farms bears for their bile, wants inclusion in the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. This move is widely opposed by bloggers and animal welfare groups because of the inherent cruelty their listing would support.
